Matt is a former federal law clerk who represents clients in all stages of federal and state criminal investigations and prosecutions.

Before joining Bedi & Singer, Matt’s representations ranged from prisoners whose civil rights had been violated to corporations in multi-million-dollar lawsuits. He brings his past experience working for the judiciary and in private practice to help clients navigate the court process and reach successful outcomes.

Federal clerkships

Matt clerked for the Northern District of Illinois and the Southern District of Texas, where he worked closely with federal judges on criminal and civil cases. He was also a member of the Northern District of Illinois Sentencing Options that Achieve Results (SOAR) program team, which provides graduates with an alternative to incarceration. His years inside the federal courthouse give him a firsthand understanding of how federal judges approach the complex legal and factual issues that Bedi & Singer’s clients face.

Law school

At the University of Michigan Law School, Matt represented criminal defendants as a student attorney and was the Managing Articles Editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. Before law school, he spent a year in Turkey on a Fulbright scholarship.
