Matt is a former federal law clerk who represents clients in all stages of federal and state criminal investigations and prosecutions. Before joining Bedi & Singer, LLP, Matt’s representations ranged from prisoners whose civil rights had been violated to corporations in multi-million-dollar lawsuits. He also has received the Northern District of Illinois Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service. He brings his past experience working for the judiciary and in private practice to help clients navigate the court process and reach successful outcomes.

As a law clerk in the Northern District of Illinois, Matt worked closely with federal judges on criminal and civil matters and was a member of the Sentencing Options that Achieve Results (SOAR) program, which provides graduates with an alternative to incarceration. His years inside the federal courthouse give him a firsthand understanding of how federal judges approach the complex legal and factual issues that the Firm’s clients face.

Matt graduated with honors from the University of Michigan Law School, where he also represented criminal defendants as a student attorney and was the Managing Articles Editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. Prior to law school, he graduated with honors from Luther College and spent a year in Turkey on a Fulbright scholarship. Matt is licensed to practice in Illinois and in several federal districts.
